Buying a New Computer? Here's what I did

So I've been searching for a new computer lately, and yesterday was the end of my long search.

    What I needed:

    • I need a PC that would render videos faster...instead of waiting 4 hours+ I needed 15 minutes of rendering...
    • I need a PC that could handle Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects...three programs my PC currently restarts/freezes or both
    • I need a PC to Play Games such as SC2, BF2, on High Res for recording gameplay...uploading it to the web
    • A strong video card that can use dual monitors...the current one I have makes a loud ticking noise

My Budget: $1000-2000...though I defiantely did not want to spend $2000 on a PC

If you buy a computer over $999 from HP.com use this code: DTK791488...it's a coupon that is $400 off total price and free shipping!

    I was like wow
. I customized my build and got the following:

    HP Pavilion Elite HPE-410t series
    • Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-870 quad-core processor [2.93GHz, 1MB L2 + 8MB shared L3 cache]
    • 16GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [4 DIMMs]
    • 1TB RAID 0 (2 x 500GB SATA HDDs) - performance
    • No additional office software
    • Norton Internet Security(TM) 2011 - 15 month
    • 2GB ATI Radeon HD 5570 [DVI,HDMI, DP, VGA adapter]
    • No speakers
    • LightScribe 16X max. DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti drive
    • Integrated Ethernet port, No wireless LAN
    • 15-in-1 memory card reader, 1 USB, 1394, audio, video (for TV Tuner)
    • TV tuner, ATSC-NTSC with PVR, remote
    • Integrated sound
    • HP USB keyboard and optical mouse

    Price: $1100, free shipping.

Two days ago I found the same computer and I was about to get it for 2200

    • What sticks out most about this design build was the 16gb of RAM, the 2GB graphics card and the quad core i7-8 chip. Hard drive space...1TB will do...(alot of harddrive space)
    • TV tuner is not really necessary, but i came free...so what the heck. the $2200 version didnt come with a tv tuner.

Overall, I'm very impressed. You won't find a pc at this price anywhere on the web for $1100.

    Destop Shopping Advice:
I typically never buy a desktop based on its look. Users will tend to pay for design more than performance...when a desktop is rarely seen by anyone but the user itself.

I was checking if the coupon code is still valid...it says expired...so IDK if the $400 will still work. Try it out if your looking for a computer and see if it applies..

Graphics card isn't that great to be honest. 16gb is overkill, 8gb would of been better along with a better graphics card. SSD would of been nice as well.

For the price though it se6ems okay, I dont live in the USA so cant compare like for like as easily.

Have you tested the graphics card?

Looks good from reviews: ATI Radeon HD 5570 Released - Big Bang-for-Buck Gamers - Digit Technology Discussion Forum - Tech Discussion Forums in India

16gb seems like an overkill but Last time I bought a PC, which was 4 years ago, they said 3gb was an overkill...and now it can't handle the things need it to do. So in 4 years, will 16gb be enough? maybe
