Proposition:
Add two new prefixes: Trusted and Verified
Trusted - Would be a prefix added by Moderators only when a Trusted member of BP makes a selling thread. Would allow users to find trusted sellers/buyers quickly and effortlessly.
Verified - This prefix is ultimately what this poll is about. This prefix would be added by Moderators only when a selling thread is verified by the Moderator. This does not mean the user is at all trusted, just that what he is selling/offering has been verified.
Issues with Verified according to Davee:
- May cause confusion with newer members falsely thinking the user is trusted.
- Waste of Moderators time
Personally, I feel that us Moderators should be verifying just about all selling threads. It takes roughly 30 seconds to two minutes to verify something, so I don't see the issue.
However, Davee and I ultimately decided we would like the community vote on the two if they should be added or not. Please vote in the poll and leave a reason as to why you voted for what you did.

good idea for trusted, verified doesn't seem all that importrant if trusted is there.
Trusted would not be easily gained. It would be given to people that have an x amount of trades and such. For example, Viridianseller would have a trusted prefix. Again, verified does not mean they are trusted. All verified would mean is that the user actually has what he says he is selling.Originally Posted by Sticky

I agree with the verified prefix, but if a user who has the trusted one scams, it would look bad on the whole site for being fooled. Just my two ingots.

That was pretty much my argument. 99.9% of advertisement/spam bots are taken care of by the Spam O Matic mod. The rest is from Littlenarb which only a GM+ can take care of.
Davee went on to say something about we should be focusing on expanding the marketplace more. Which I agree with to an extent, however bigger marketplace = more potential scammers which is why a system of the sorts should be implemented.
couldn't you just ask the seller to show you the goods before the transaction? that would eliminate the need for mods to do it ammirite?
This is what a vouch thread is for.
I think only verified should be added if the selling shop has X amount of vouches within it. That way the moderator still has his precious time, and the "verified" prefix actually makes sense.
And this should ONLY be applied to shops.
