Thread: *Majority rule* Utilizing prefixes

i dont really think these stuffs would be necessary, vouch thread is for the trusted prefix and verified... the seller can show it to the buyer before the trade so i voted its fine the way it is

I voted for both, just because i think people get scammed too much and this would be a reasonable way to avoid that.
The main question is, does BP want to stray away from being a site that offers the ability to trade into the world of moderating all trades? This is the obvious progression if we do add these services. On one hand, if we can moderate trades, we can probably retain more people and become more well known once people have trades successfully moderated by BP. On the other hand, more responsibility is placed on the site, and ultimately Davee because of this. I don't really know which is better. Personally, I don't like the push towards more of a news site... I think we can get better information from different places quicker and more accurately, so this would be something that I would enjoy. However, I don't really know if the responsibility/ discredit if a trade goes wrong is really worth it to offer this service to potential customers. Additionally, N00BZors will still trade without the trusted tags, just like people still trade without using BP chat and complain about getting scammed. Will this really do anything??

Sorry for the double post. I realize that I didn't really formulate an opinion, just asked questions. Maybe if one mod were to devote his/her time to ensuring the success of trades, this would be a better option???

Both options would just be a more simplified version of sticky threads that have been made with legit sellers/buyers in the past.... months, years? It would just be more conspicious. Which is a good thing for new buyers or sellers that do not yet know all the aspects of an underground gaming marketplace.

The problem with verified is it will come out as appearing as "Trustworthy." Since the thread was verified, its therefore safe to trade? Its' like a false positive. Someone with 1 post can get a "Verified" thread and have status from the start.

What we should have is real life verification bonuses.

Phone Number Verification - A text is sent to your phone, you verify it on the computer and phone # is in record.
Address Verification - Where they send something in the mail, and you have to confirm the code online.
Facebook Verification - I have no idea

I think the more contact/connections you ahve a bout the person, the less likely they will scam/hide behind the computer

Stuff like that makes ppl verified. Its' probably also a privacy issue that needs to be sorted out properly. (Just brainstorming...there are unlikely to become real in the neartime future unless there is huge push for it)

The verified prefix I'll agree with, it's a good way of showing a thread is verified rather than just having a post by a moderator saying 'Verified'. Perhaps you should also add "Verified by *Name of moderator* but that's just a side thing.

Trusted I'm not going to go with because I can name a few cases where trusted members have turned around and scammed the hell out of people. And in the end, what is trusted anyway?

This is all very well but because you know someone's phone number how does it make them any less likely to scam you. I mean let's face it, there are people on the site who can find people's phone numbers if they do something bad enough anyway. I think it's a rather useless attribute bar the fact it's proving they're not a bot.

Plus people can just go get a free one from one of those adverts on the internet and use that number.
