Yofool4's Money Making Guide (F2P Low Levels)

    The Emerging Marketplace:
    Edgeville

    (image obtained from http://rs.farmer100.com/img/cimg/maps/edgeville.png)
    (Worlds 1, 57, and 136)

I recently have returned to playing Runescape to show off to one of my friends how well I can earn money. As I had forgotten all my previous accounts usernames and passwords I had to create a new account. This is the guide to how I made my first million in under a week of play (allowed me to earn 40-150k per hour at level 3). This is a simple 3 stage process.

    Stage 1:
    Set-up

What is needed to finish the set up?

    1. Have a Runescape account that you can use
    2. Get to Edgeville
    3. Check worlds 1, 57, and 136 to see which has the most players in Edgeville (the one with the most players is where you'll want to be)
    4. Empty all your items into the Edgeville bank
    5. Cross the wilderness ditch, but do not enter yet

This stage may seem somewhat trivial, but #3 and #4 is where some people get confused (for #3 you need to see if you have enough people sell to easily and for #4 people sometimes fail and take an item they love into the wilderness and then they die).

    Stage 2:
    Obtaining Start-up Funds

How you obtain start up funds (3-Step process):

    1. LOOT
    2. Sell the loot (simpler to do on the GE, but sometimes more profitable to do in Edgeville with players)
    3. Repeat until you have at least 16k

I preferred to focus on addy arrows (85 gp each on the GE) , but I also snagged capes because of their occasionally high sale value at the GE (I sold a single cape for a little less than 5k on the GE once). Amulets are generally ignored by experienced F2P Pkers so feel free to loot them and can be resold for a few 1,000 more than actual value in Edgeville to other player).

    Stage 3
    The Cycle Begins

    What is "the cycle"?

    1. Buying
    2. Advertising
    3. Selling

    Step 1:
    Buying

    Funds Level 1 (16,000-37,999 GP)

    Advised item(s) to buy:
    Rune Scimitar(s)

    Funds Level 2 (38,000-139,999 GP)

    Advised item(s) to buy:
    Rune Scimitar(s)
    Rune 2h Sword(s)

    Funds Level 3 (140,000-499,999 GP)

    Advised item(s) to buy:
    Rune Scimitar(s)
    Rune 2h Sword(s)
    Rune Full Set(s)

    Funds Level 4 (+500,000 GP)

    Advised item(s) to buy:
    Rune Scimitar(s)
    Rune 2h Sword(s)
    Rune Full Set(s)
    Rune Battleaxe(s)
    Amulet(s) of Strength
    Amulet(s) of Power

    Step 2
    Advertising

Once you've obtained your items I'd suggest a simple technique for attracting buyers. While flashing, scrolling, and waving lines of text might catch the eye, the easier to read yellow font is what will get you noticed. For the most customers try to stand in the northern region of the bank, without any players on the same tile (I find the NE corner to be the best if there is room).

    Step 3
    Selling

    Values to add to items:

    Rune Scimitar(s)

Add 4 to 5k over GE price

    Rune 2h Sword(s)

Add 5 to 8k over GE price

    Rune Full Set(s)

Add 10 to 30k over GE price

    Rune Battleaxe(s)

Add 3 to 5k over GE price

    Amulet(s) of Strength

Add 1 to 4k over GE price

    Amulet(s) of Power

Add 2 to 8k over GE price

    Additional Notes:

    • The items chosen were chosen because of how easy they are to sell to players in Edgeville.
    • Mages generally don't buy supplies from other players
    • You can pick up items for bargain prices sometimes off of players returning from a successful pk trip (ex. Rune full 115k or a Rune scimitars 13k ea)

P.S. I think this is comprehensive and above 500 words :P (not that I'm planning on cashing out any time soon)

At first I thought you were talking about merching, but this seems like a fool-proof guide to me! I assume it would work on a P2P world too?

Big hugs and credit to Shady for my avatar!

I tried this a little on P2P it is significantly more difficult and you need a lot more money to cover all the items people want (ex. godswords, dragon sets, and barrows sets).

I can track you down if you annoy me.
