Runecrafting

This guide will show you the fastest way to get to level 99 runecrafting in f2p. There are only two locations in f2p that are worth using. You can incorporate teleport's into the routes to make it quicker if you'd like. It will also cover everything to do with runecrafting in F2P.

Runecrafting Gloves

Runecrafting gloves are gloves that double the exp you get from crafting certain runes. There are air, water and earth gloves. They can be bought from fist of guthix for 75 tokens.

Rune Essence

Rune essence is an extremely important part of runecrafting. You can mine it at level 1 mining as long as you have finished the rune mysteries quest. Members can mine pure essence at level 30 mining. Rune Essence gives 5 mining exp per one.

This quest is needed to be done to mine rune essence.

Start the quest at Lumbridge castle, by going to the second floor of the castle and talking to the duke. Talk to him and ask him if there is any quest he needs done. He will tell you about a strange talisman he found. He will also ask you to bring it to Sedridor at the Wizards Tower.

Head off to the Wizards tower, and go down the ladder and you will see a wizard, talk to him and he'll end up telling you to bring a package to Aubury in varrock rune shop.

Go to the varrock rune shop. Talk to Aubury about the package and he'll tell you to let him study it for a bit. Talk to him again and he'll give you some research notes to give back to Sedridor.

Head back to the wizards tower and talk to Sedridor, he will then talk to you about the history of runecrafting. He'll give you the air talisman back.

You now can mine rune essence!

Mining

The best place to mine it at is by going to the rune shop and right clicking Aubury and selecting teleport, it will bring you to this place with big rocks that you can mine. Once finished mining it, leave through the teleport and bank it.

Now you know how to mine essence, it's time to learn how to get talismans.

Talismans

If you need talismans he best place to get them is by killing elemental wizards. These can be found south of falador, and west of Port Sarim. If you don't want to kill anyone, you can just buy them.

Now you know how to get talismans, it's time to learn how to make tiaras. You can get experience out of it.

Tiaras

Requirements

20 Mining
20 Smithing
23 Crafting

Mining the Ore
To make a tiara you'll need to mine silver ore, you need a level of 20 mining to mine it. There are 5 silver ores in alkharid mine. If it is too busy, change your language to German as there are less people online.

Smelting the Ore
We now need to smelt the ore. You need a level of 20 smithing to smelt it. If you mined in the alkharid mine, there is a furnace near the bank that you can smelt it at.

Making the Tiaras

To make the tiaras you need to buy a tiara mould first. Once you have it go back to the furnace with your mould and the silver bars. Click the silver bar on the furnace and right-click on the tiara, and make all.

Enchanting the tiaras

Now you have your tiaras, and your talisman, got to an altar that you have a talisman for, and use your tiara on the altar, they will then fuse and your tiara will now be enchanted, you will also get exp for it.

Altar Locations

Air Altar - Between Varrock and Barbarian Village, near the cooking guild
Mind Altar - East of Goblin Village
Water Altar - Lumbridge Swamp
Earth Altar - North-east from Varrrock,
Fire Altar - North of dueling arena
Body Altar - South of the Monk Monastery

Levels 1-30

The cheap way is to mine essence instead of buying it. If you're mining essence you must have finished the 'rune mysteries' quest.

Air Runes

Cost: 50,787

Exp per Inventory: 135

First, before we start, you should have an air tiara (Does the same thing as a talisman but doesn't require to be held in your inventory.) you can get one of these from the Grand Exchange. Now head off to the talisman and make the runes.

30-99

Earth Runes

Location:

Essence needed until level 99: 2,003,242

Exp per Inventory:182

Cost: 38,061,598

If you want to make some money and quite fast experience, than your best bet is to do earth runes, as they're worth more than any of the other F2P runes. Your best bet is to bot this, as it will be boring as hell.

30-99

Body Runes

Location:

Essence needed until level 99: 1,736,143

Exp per Inventory: 210

Cost: 32,986,717

If you don't care about money than this is the best choice for you, body runes sell for a low 4 gp per rune.
