But what about those who have bought a life in that bilge bot? Wouldn't they feel a bit put out if you decided to make the thing they payed money for free to anyone?

I don't have any objections. If you stop selling the bot first day of September, and announce that it'll be free come October, would that be fair enough for those that had purchased before then? It would also give me some time to modify the code. Would also mean I don't have to worry about GI being @$&#*%^s anymore either.
