Spiral knights tiers explained.

In spiral knights you will here people go on about tiers and think what the hell are they on about then don't worry it shall be explained.

Character tiers:

Every single item of Armour in spiral knights and weapons, has a tier level.This will be represented as how many stars it is when you hover over it.0 star (starting tier) being your starting out Armour and 5 star (5 tier) being the highest level you can get (for now).

you can upgrade your Armour by crafting to improve its durability and star rating therefore its tier as well.You may be thinking why does this matter to me?.Well only certain floors can be accessed with certain tier Armour!.

The floors are spit into guess what tiers, there are 3 tiers in total:

— Depth: 01-07 (Tier 1)
— Depth: 09-17 (Tier 2)
— Depth: 19-28 (Tier 3)

To access tier 2 you need tier 2 Armour and weapon.
To access tier 3 you need tier 4 Armour and weapon.

the reason for this is because the game gets significantly harder after tier1.
