you kind of missed the point. people who buy it get it NOW. whereas you get to wait a month. also Raam is a general not a lieutenant
Well butter my buttocks and call me a Cheeky Girl, it seems there's free Gears of War 3 DLC coming later this month! As a massive fan of the series I'm obviously excited and relieved I don't have to fork out my hard-earned dosh (and by hard-earned, I mean earned through this site writing articles about how I earn money) - but it does beg the question of who exactly is going to fork out 800 Microsoft Points for the same content a few weeks in advance...
Yes, so the Gears of War 3 Horde Command Pack was delayed, then it was released - and now it seems as if no one should have bothered in the first place! Developer Epic announced today that a new complimentary DLC pack will be briskly making its way down to the Gears of War 3 masses later this month.
Available to download from 24th November, the "Versus Booster Map Pack" offers five maps for public matchmaking playlists - two from Gears 1 (Swamp and Clocktower) and three from the just-released Horde Command Pack (Azura, Rustlung and Blood Drive). I'm not complaining!
The press release made it clear to state that those who've purchased the Horde Command Pack still have exclusive access to that pack's Horde fortification upgrades, additional playable characters and new weapon skins... but really, for £8 - is it that big of a deal?
And of course, after all of this - don't forget the one final DLC pack available before the end of the year. It's one that's got my heart pumping the most: "RAAM's shadow", a bonus add-on that extends the narrative of the original title and let's you play as Gears 1's beautiful baddie, Lt. RAAM. This ludicrously gory expansion will be available to download on the 13th December - because nothing says "Happy Christmas" more than tearing apart the limbs of helpless COG soldiers whilst their children sit idly drooling at home, enjoying their first Christmas without Dadda...
Woah, that was dark... My bad!

But it was the same with the EA Sports pass. You got to play Fifa 12 a week earlier than release, and it cost you £12 for the privilege. I know it's just my opinion, but a bit of patience is far easier on the wallet in these circumstances.
You seem to misunderstand. The DLC later this month is just 5 new maps added to the versus playlist. Anyone with just this free DLC won't be able to play on azura, blood drive, clocktower, rustlung or swamp on Beast, Horde or private Versus, only on Quickmatch or Ranked match. And they won't have the ability to earn achievements either, nor will the new decoy upgrades, mech upgrades or command centers be available to them in Horde.
