Thread: babyjesus95 demoted - plagiarism

All of my blogs, excluding the one I posted about 30 minutes ago, are all my work. I had forgotten to post that the article was originally written by Helen A.S. Popkin, as I was talking to Girus about important matters. And why does this have to pubically announce, may I ask? It's embarrassing enough that I was so easily distracted, but now, I look like a fool.

People have the right to know why you got demoted.


Doesn't matter if you forgot only once. Stealing is stealing no matter how you look at it.

I'm guessing it will be easy to get his position back, considering it was one offense and he is a good blogger

It's nothing more then a temp demotion really. Want to make sure he can fully write his own blogs and understand plagiarism isn't taken lightly.

Why do you have to blame this on me. You know we started that conversation AFTER this thread was even made...

Lmao, I'm not blaming you. I was busy with my recent ban on Y!PP and then you tell me the story you did, and it all distracted me. Me being banned from Y!PP has distracted me all day, I was going to go back and edit the blog, but then you and a few others started to message me on MSN and such. Doesn't matter, I'll earn the right back.

I probably shouldn't get involved, but babyjesus95 is an all around great guy, that just slipped up once by failing to source his work. I don't understand how outing him in Jail General Chat and demoting him is better for his morale or that of this site's as opposed to just talking to him in chat and asking him to fix his blog. Then if he's adamant about what he's done this step should be taken... Granted I don't know the full situation, but I feel like you jumped the gun a bit on this one. :/

Considering plagiarism is illegal and buypoe can get shut down because of it, I really don't see how I jumped the gun at all.

Technically, plagiarism is a perm ban. I let him off with an infraction and temporary demotion.
