BP is currently trying to rebuild. The things that have been going on here made most people lose respect for Dave and Krivol, who are practically co owners (dave gets all the money).

Lately, BP has been falling hard, and the only member value it has is being shared with a competitor, that most people (including myself) find much better.

Dave and krivol keep insisting that there are going to be huge updates and such, but the probability that these will be as good as stated is deemed unlikely by most.

And about the staff: basically the staff consists of Dave, and anyone who agrees with him and/or doesn't voice opinions. Think about it; how involved in the community is Thazestyburrito? I like him personally, but he acts as dave's moderator robot. Krivol is a lot like dave, so they will always see eye to eye. Toxic is sort of an exception, but he's simply less involved in BP.

Dave likes to surround himself with people who won't get in the way of what he wants, when he wants it, and that's neither a secret nor an opinion. Its the reason >:3, Sobo, Champ, and Snipes are no longer staff. Champ and Snipes actually didn't get in Dave's way after a while, they gave up because it was almost useless.

The staff system here is a dictorship/buerocracy (spelled that awfully btw). This means that Dave is the only one who makes decisions, and Dave chooses who gets promoted, reguardless of what anybody else thinks. This way dave can make decisions that will always be backed up by staff.

Most of started happening after the old staff started leaving/getting demoted. It is pretty much fact. I am NOT trying to make staff look bad, simply stating facts that help answer some of the questions asked by the OP.

I have been talking with Dave and we have have some future projects planned. Some are small and some will take a few months to develop.

We have two Major updates that are planned for the next few months. I will let you know the approx Release date when we get closer to testing.

I am working on organzing the forums within the next few days (I'm not deleting threads).


Finally, we will be recruiting more Columnists, you may notice them in a day or two.

BuyPoE goes through many lulls and this is just one of them. When the site first opened in 2009 David's main buddy or comrade was Demonfox who helped him with many things and was the community's connection with David. Then Snipes12 was made GM as the site great larger and he became the new connection. The site hit a small lull and stagnated a tad and I was promoted to GM and became the new connection, after that you've had >:3, Soborocks and Phoenix; Krivol is merely the next one in the line.

You will see that the site will go through a lull, a new person will be selected to become the buddy and the site will see some improvement, however after a while said buddy will start to become annoyed that David regards any form of criticism as a personal attack and that the changes that would aide the site are ignored. The person will then steadily become more annoyed until they throw in the towel and give up, the site will then experience another lull before there's another change of staff and new connection. The site's dropped close to 100,000 places in the ranking, before it climbs another few places, before it drops again.

If you've honestly got a problem with the site or with the staff, just button up or leave as openly talking or complaining about it will merely result in further frustration on your part as threads/post are removed/deleted. BuyPoE will most probably never die the old will merely have been replaced by the new. Your best bet is to move to another site.

The drops in ranking were directly impacted by the hacking, and we've had cycles in hacking, not by traffic or by a GM stepping down. When the site goes down for a week, it takes into account the loss of traffic of a week and then some other factors.

As for Gms leaving, only 1 was demoted, the others have left due to all sorts of reasons like making a new site, or stopped playing ypp, had other ventures, etc.

And then the last part, most things a GM does, does not have to go through me. For instance Champ promoted Toxic and didn't ask me and I was fine with that. Not only that GMs can change, and add forum categories, and also a whole lot of other things that don't have to go through me to make change on the site.

If you have experience in design and development thats' another area a GM would be able to change and affect.

Champ had some dev skills and he was doing BuyPoe Wars with full server access to that directory. Any downtime in that game he had the ability to fix.

Basically, if you want to make changes you can do so, you don't have to give a suggestion to me to have things changed if your GM. You have the powers to make change when I'm not around.

I'm pretty sure >:3 left when he declined your demand to make all his bots free in the VIP section.

Champ left after he found something better, mainly because he gave up.

Snipes also gave up on you.

Tim didn't like what you were doing, so he left for that and for some other reason.

Sobo left when you refused him freedom of speech.

And you know that. Now we have Thazesty and Krivol. You made them GM because you KNEW they would agree with you, wherever you went. They are both very passive people. They both show no public leadership. You wanted this because you didn't want another >:3 or Sobo or Tim. That's why when you didn't promote certain people, the members went into an outrage.

There's a reason why regular members have more support than you and your GMs. There's a reason why you're the only site owner who doesn't get their ass kissed all day by the community. There's a reason why you have so much tension with the people who are most supported. Think about it.

Tims really a free spirit. Tends to start drama to get amusement out of it. He admitted this. He was truly a good guy, but had an evilness about him where he liked to pick fights with everyone and see what happened

And Snipes and Champ were on the team for a very long time as well. They left maybe cause they we're bored of YPP. I know Snipes stopped playing it.

As a fact, all the GMs were on the team for a long time. People change over time, everyone has their own opinions, and just because they left it doesn't mean it was because of BP. I'm sure theres' other reasons they haven't told us like not enough time, or maybe tired of site, girlfriends, or school
