Got to Galaxy > below the list of planets u will find this "Explore the Edge of this System" Click on it and then edit ur fleet and go make an expedition

Warning : There is a chace u may lose the fleet u sent on its way or atleast some of it depends on your luck :P

Oh and u may need the expedition research aswell to go do expeds which requires level 3 impulse engine , spy technology & research lab
