Ive seen a few people post this but it wasnt much more then a mindless copy and paste and it lacked some information that i thought was necessary so I made my own steps and found a nice video showing exactly what needs to be done so people dont have any bits of confusion on getting this.

This is on the map "numbers" so technically the very first step is you starting up the map.
1.After the Interrogation scene ends there are six canisters in front of you. Throw two grenades to the back left and right white canisters.
2.Shoot the remaining four canisters on your left and right until smoke comes out.
3.Turn around and then go left to the desk.
4.If done correctly you will see a black tape sticking out of a cassette player.
5.Hold down the action key (square on PS3, x on xbox360) the screen should shake and the tape will disappear from the cassette player if this was done properly.
6.Go upstairs and clear the room by killing all the enemies.
7.When at the rooftop jump to the next floor.
8.When Weaver and Clarke open the fridge with the weapons room enter.
9.Look to the left and notice there is a cassette player on a desk right past clarke.
10.When you get to the cassette player press the action key and notice the cassette go in.
11.If done correctly the tape goes in and the screen shakes.
12.The Thundergun will slowly materialize out of the wall.
13.Have fun murdering your enemy's, your ammo refills at every checkpoint.
